Who is Community Action?
Each year, KACAP honors staff, volunteers, partners, and clients who embody the spirit of hope. We present to you the 2014 Living the Promise, Caring Service, Personal Responsibility & Achievement, and Collaborative Excellence award winners.
Becky Gray, joined the SEK-CAP team full time in January of 2010. Prior to this calling, she was a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Pittsburg State University and an Adjunct Instructor at Labette Community College, teaching Research Writing.
Crystal Anderson is no stranger to Human Service and Social justice. Before joining ECKAN, she spent 10 years as Survivor Services Director at The Willow Domestic Violence Center in Lawrence, has been a Housing Coordinator at a homeless shelter, and she worked with urban youth in Michigan.
ECKAN has been a part of Kenna’s life for 13 years. First as Head Start parent, and now as an employee. The values and missions of this agency are near and dear to her. She excels at spreading the message of Community Action and helping her agency find new partners and volunteers.
John Homlish is the Director of Community Services for Community Action, Inc. in Topeka, KS. He also serves as Treasurer for the KACAP Board of Directors. He's smart, pragmatic, incredibly proud of his agency's successful Back to School Fair and First Tee programs, and wickedly funny.
