What Is Individual and Family Development?

Individual and Family Development (IFD) is the comprehensive process through which customers establish goals and improve their abilities to reach those goals. It results in stronger families, better communities, and a reduction in the causes and conditions of poverty.  IFD is accomplished through: a focused, coordinated, and intentional resource commitment from the CAA; a professional, flexible approach to working with customers; putting customers in charge of their futures; and connecting people with the necessary resources and tools for success.

The registration fee includes the Empowerment Skills for Family Workers and Making Case Management Work manuals and lunch at each of the 5 training days. Please note that this is a flat fee that covers all 8 modules. While will not be provided, KACAP will consider, on a case-by-case basis, if a portion of the registration fee for a participant unable to complete the program could be applied to a future session.

Course Schedule

The Winter/Spring session of the Kansas Individual and Family Development Credential Program will be from January to May 2011. (Download Schedule or see below for specific dates and locations.) During each session, each module will be offered twice, once in the Northern Region and once in the Southern Region.
