The Missouri Association for Community Action (MACA), located in Jefferson City, MO is seeking a dynamic person to fill the upcoming position of Executive Director.  MACA is a membership organization and the Executive Director is responsible for all administrative functions for its membership, MACA employee administration and office operations, planning and carrying out the approved association’s mission, vision and values, and reviews the association’s management performance in achieving its goals. 

MACA membership includes 19 independent not-for-profit organizations that comprise the Missouri Community Action Agency (CAA) Network as defined by the Community Services Block Grant Act of 1998 and as formed under the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964.  The total MACA membership of 1366 also includes individual dues paying members.  The purpose of community action as defined by federal statute is to move people out of poverty and the CAA network provides a variety of services and opportunities to low-income families and individuals in crises through community based programs and activities.  MACA leadership capacity is a collective voice within the local communities and at federal and state levels.

This position requires abilities and skills to interact at all internal and external levels including working with community, national and statewide leaders. The position reports to and is responsible to a Board of Directors. MACA operating budget is $2.5 million and has ten full time employees.  The position is based in Jefferson City, MO and will be available starting September 3, 2013. 

 A Masters degree in Business Administration, Sociology, Social Work, Public Administration or related liberal arts field is preferred.  A minimum of three years experience in community action management, state association administration or other similar not-for-profit executive management is preferred.  The salary will be based on experience, plus benefits.
